The role decides which public datasets feed each sub-score — FBI UCR crime, EPA SDWIS water and AQS air, NCES school outcomes, Census ASPEP municipal finance, and CMS hospital quality — how they normalize into the 0-100 composite, and how missing sub-scores are handled and corrections triaged. City scores, rankings, and comparisons are drafted with AI assistance and editorially reviewed against the underlying federal releases, with every value traceable back to its source.
